About Us

History of the Organization

Golden New Era Educational and Social Society was founded in 2016 with the aim of transforming the lives of marginalized communities in Uttarakhand. The organization was established by a group of dedicated social workers and community leaders who recognized the urgent need for sustainable development, quality education, and healthcare in rural areas.

Early Years:
In its early years, the organization focused on conducting baseline surveys to understand the specific needs and challenges of local communities. This data-driven approach helped design targeted programs and facilitated a better understanding of critical issues. One of the first major initiatives was the “Education for All” program, which aimed to provide free education and learning resources to children in remote villages. The program led to a significant increase in school enrollment and attendance rates.

Growth and Expansion:
As the organization gained momentum, it expanded its focus to include health and hygiene. The “Healthy Village” initiative was launched to organize health camps, provide medical checkups, and spread awareness about adopting hygiene practices. This initiative has reached thousands of individuals, significantly improving overall community health.

The organization also recognized the importance of women’s empowerment in bringing about social change. Training programs and workshops were organized to equip women with skills for self-employment and entrepreneurship. These efforts have enabled many women to start their own businesses and become financially independent.

Environmental Conservation:
Ecological balance and environmental conservation have been central focuses of the organization since its inception. Tree plantation drives, awareness programs on traditional and scientific agricultural practices, and the promotion of organic farming have been among the major activities. The environmental conservation campaign successfully planted thousands of trees and encouraged women and the community to adopt environmentally friendly practices.

Recent Achievements:
In recent years, the organization has implemented several innovative programs. One notable project, “Regionally Based Health and Agricultural Risk Science Communication and Scientific Literacy,” increased awareness of agricultural risks in communities through health, environment, and traditional agricultural system literacy. Positive changes were observed in risk-bearing and management behaviors, making the community more self-reliant in risk assessment, improving the rural health system, and enhancing self-care capacity. Workshops and training sessions expanded the community’s knowledge of medical science and raised awareness of correct treatments, combating superstitions and misinformation. Determined to preserve traditional agricultural products and pass on this knowledge to the new generation, the organization organizes preparations and workshops tailored to the needs of the communities.
